Keep on praying!!!

SO much has happened these past few days that we have not been able to update. We apologize. Mom is still alive and we are still praying for COMPLETE PHYSICAL HEALING as well as spiritual and emotional healing. We are still asking for no visitors at this time, but need ALL your prayers and support. JESUS is ALIVE and HEALING mom. Please continue to pray alongside of us as we continue to BATTLE, PERSEVERE, and RUN THIS RACE with her. Thank you SO much for all your prayers thus far - as well as all of you who have tried to contact us via e-mail, phone, or other means. We have been receiving all those calls and e-mails, but we apologize if we have not been able to respond back.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT TO US AS A FAMILY!!!!! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

We will continue to update when we can, but as of right now, it's been hard for us to update because things change moment by moment. We will post when we can. Thanks!!!

Update

thank you for all your prayers and support.  our mom remains in the hospital, and is extremely weak.  we know our time is likely limited, but we are enjoying our moments together as family.  we kindly ask that we receive no visitors at the hospital at the present moment, except for family.  we thank you for your privacy during this time.  we appreciate everyone's prayers for our mom and family, and believe our God hear each one.  please continue to pray...

In need of mercy...

thank you for praying for my mom's paracentesis last tuesday.  my mom came back to us, even if it was only for several hours that day.  she was able to sit up and talk with her brother, who was visiting from taiwan.  we praise God for that intimate moment they were able to share.

our mom has become increasingly weak, and more in pain.  it has been so hard seeing her like this.  i don't even have the words to pray anymore...and find myself crying everytime i try.  we are desperate for His mercy.  as simon said earlier, we do not know how many days our mom has left, but her life is in God's hands.

please pray for this weekend.  matthew and sharon will be coming to houston.  please pray that my mom would be strengthened, and it would be an encouraging time for our family.

Mom is a fighter!

[F] Just wanted to give an update after last night's CT scan. My mom was a FIGHTER! She drank 2 cups of that Gastrografin that is required for the CT scan. The CT scan was necessary to see if she qualifies for the clinical trial... which we will find out on Monday. There have been changes to the appointment schedule that my brother listed earlier. We just found out today that we will not be meeting with the principal investigator on Friday, but instead we will be meeting with Dr. Falchook on Monday afternoon. If she qualifies, she will start the medication on that day.

[S] My mother-in-law looks really weak right now. We don't know how many days she has left. Her life is in God's hands. Please pray for our family at this time. This has been a very difficult trial for our family. Words cannot describe how I feel but I can only let tears come and go. God is our peace and sustenance. We don't know how many days we all have left but can only choose to live for Him. Thank you for your prayers and support for our family.

Urgent Prayer...

sorry for the lack of updates.  it has been a trying month, and we know the journey is probably going to get harder.  our mom has gotten increasingly weak, and is unable to eat very much anymore.  she is under a lot of discomfort and pain, to the point where she cannot sleep at night.  her abdomen is very swollen, and we think there may be a lot of fluid built up in there.  we spent today at the ER at MD Anderson, to see if they could do anything to help her feel better.  we have a big week ahead of us, so i wanted to ask you all for prayer.  these events may change, but as of now here they are:

• on tuesday, we have an appointment to have a paracentesis performed, where they will try to draw the fluid from her abdomen.  please pray that this will grant our mom some temporary relief from the extreme pressure she feels in her abdomen.
• on wednesday, we have a line up of tests to be done at MD Anderson to see if she can qualify for a phase I trial.  one of the tests is a CT scan, which our mom really dreads, and is quite difficult for her because she has to drink the contrast.  please pray that our mom will be healthy and strong enough to go through these tests.
• on thursday, our mom has a day off from the hospital.  please pray that it would be a day of true rest for her.
• on friday, we meet with the prinicipal investigator for the clinical trial to see if our mom qualifies.  please pray that she would qualify for the trial, and that God would use this to help restore her.

our mom is such a fighter.  in spite of all of the pain and weakness, she has shown us what true courage, faith, and grace are.  we know that each day God gives us with our mom is a blessing, and we truly believe that He is continuing to keep her here on earth for a reason.  please continue to pray for her to be comforted in her body, and for complete healing.

we thank all of you for your prayers and support.  they mean so much to us.  at times we are so emotionally, spiritually, and physically drained, but we are encouraged and uplifted everytime we think of your prayers for our mom and our family.  we love you all so much.
