God has healed our mom...in heaven :)

Dear friends and family,

This morning at 11:30AM, our Lord called mom home to be with Him. We praise God that He has healed her completely in heaven, and we are thankful that she was able to go to Him in so much peace and comfort and surrounded by all of us family at her bedside.

We are also grateful that God gave all of our family as well as our mom true peace during this time. In the end, we as a family choose to love and praise God until our own last breath - and we know that when our own time has come, our mom will be the first to greet us in heaven.

It's been a long, tough journey for our mom and family...especially over the last few weeks and several days. Even in the midst of all the pain and suffering our mom endured, there were many sweet moments of encouragement and comfort that God gave her and to us. We have many of these stories to share with you all in due time.

We apologize for we know that many of you wanted to visit her in the hospital while she was very ill. The reason why she requested no visitors while she was in the hospital was because she did not want to be remembered for her sickness, but for her fully-lived life of giving and loving God and others here on earth. Our mom loved greatly and unconditionally, as I have not ever known anyone who could have loved more, except our Lord Jesus. We know that many of you had the chance to meet her, either over the last several months or perhaps more in passing at our wedding last year. She was truly a woman with enormous faith and strength - even until her very last breath - and we know that God has blessed her richly in heaven for all that she endured and gave of herself here on earth.

We thank those of you who have continued to support, encourage, and pray for our mom and whole family at this time. Our mom was always so deeply moved and touched when she heard that you were praying and thinking of her. Our mom really wished to have been able to come to Dallas in this past month to thank everyone in person and share with you her journey personally...

With that being said, we invite you all to attend her memorial service - which will be held this coming Saturday, February 7th, at 2:00PM in Houston. We encourage those of you not in Houston to carpool together down if possible!

It will not be your typical funeral service, but more a celebration of her life here on earth as she walked with God and loved much - this is what she wanted and how she wanted to be remembered. There will also be a time of open-mic sharing where people will be able to share about how she has touched others' lives personally and deeply.

Details below:
The memorial service will take place in the activity center of our parents' home church in Clear Lake on Saturday 2/7/09 at 2PM.
EFC of NASA
401 N. Texas Ave.
Webster, TX 77598
Dinner will be graciously provided afterwards for everyone.
Dress attire: however you feel comfortable

Love,
Gene and Sharon

I thank God for her life and friendship. Her patient suffering was not in vain, because Christ suffered with her. And now she will eternally participate in Christ's resurrection, praising God in her new re-created body. I mourn her absence but am grateful that death is not the final word. Praying for your family during this time of grieving.

I rejoice in the joy that your mom is receiving in Heaven being able to rejoice/praise God and be just IN HIS PRESENCE - worry free, pain free, and in complete peace. I know she has brought much joy to our family and we are thankful for her servant's heart.
